Updates

So it has been awhile since we have had an update. I keep telling Matt he should do an update but he never does :)

So since last time I wrote we got Wrigley a little sister doggie. Well she is smaller than him in size but she is actually 3 years old. We adopted her from a lady who had to move back to China and didn't want to put her through that transition.

Tonight there was shuttle launch but we couldn't see it from here because it was too cloudy. We were a little sad about that.

BUT we are happy because my mom flys into town this Wednesday and dad drives in this upcoming weekend. We are excited to have them in town and excited to show them around where we live.

We will be coming back for Christmas. We will probably start driving Sunday afternoon Dec. 21st and get into town sometime on Monday the 22nd. Then I believe we are leaving Friday the 2nd.

I'll try to post some pictures on photobucket in a few minutes!

I know I know, we don't do a very good job of keeping this updated. I just forget sometimes.

So what is new with us? Not a whole lot. Today we bought Wrigley a Halloween costume :) If you go to our Photobucket website you can see a few pictures of him in it. We got him a hot dog costume! It is a little too big on him, but he is still cute in it.

Our jobs are going well for the most part. We've been spending a lot of time the last few days thinking about our future though, mostly things such as once we decide to have a baby we can't really live in this apartment any more since it is pretty small and only one bedroom. At that point I would no longer be a house parent. We will have to see how that goes. That isn't something we have to think about that too much yet, seeing as we aren't trying to have a baby yet :)

I'm off today and tomorrow. We went to Animal Kingdom for part of the day today. We rode Expedition Everest 3 times! It is a pretty good ride, it is a roller coaster. Then we went through some of the animal walk throughs and got to see some Monkeys :). Then we went to see the Lion King show.

Tomorrow night we are taking Wrigley to PetSmart's halloween pet party. Hopefully he behaves and keeps his hot dog on! If not he will still look cute, just not as a hot dog. He will be thrilled to be around all of those dogs. He goes CRAZY when other dogs are around to play with. He LOVES playing with every dog he sees. Whenever we buy a house in a couple years we will get him another little yorkie playmate.

We went to the beach this last weekend. I think it was a good weekend to go too because it is going to start getting too chilly to actually get into the water any more. It is only getting into the low 80's now, and has been staying in the upper 70's before noonish. Still warmer than all of you up north :)

I think that is about it for now. I'll try to update this more often, I'll have to write a post-it to myself to remember!

Wednesday September 17th

I went out for a 2 mile run this morning after not running for about a week and a half. It was good to get out there again, but it was very hot and humid. It was 8:30ish or so and almost 80 degrees and 89% humidity.

Matt had a meeting at the church today. Just a weekly meeting. He's home now, but goes to work at 2.

Wrigley is settling in nicely (Matt actually just came back inside from taking him out to go to the bathroom). He sleeps pretty well through the night and only barks for a little bit when we put him in his crate. He did chew on a small piece of carpet though!! So we will probably have to pay to have it fixed. Thankfully it is only a small small area and they will only have to patch it. Other than that, he hasn't really tried to chew on anything so that is good. We will just have to not have his little pen thing on the carpet anymore, at least when we are not in the room.

We haven't went to the beach yet, so we hope to go soon. Not sure what we will do tomorrow, maybe go to a water park, or maybe Animal Kingdom? Having the Disney passes really allows us to have something to do that is already paid for. There are two water parks, 4 theme parks and arcade and I think a round of golf.

Today we are just kinda relaxing until work. Not going anywhere today. We do need to go get me a new cell phone soon though!

Finally my first weekend off!

Starting tomorrow morning (Saturday morning) I have my first weekend off! I've had to work every weekend thus far. As far as plans for tomorrow, Matt and I are debating between either going to the beach, or going to Blizzard Beach (A Disney water park) during the late morning and then heading to the Magic Kingdom for the evening and watching the fireworks there that night. We aren't sure which we are going to do yet, so I guess we will have to decide tonight.

Wrigley is doing well, he has suddenly developed a fear for the grass, so we are working on that considering being on the grass is important to his potty training! He was fine until about 2 days ago and now we have to pick him up and take him off of the sidewalk and put him on the grass, weird.... he's a strange dude.

I got my hair cut. I'm still unsure about it but I guess I don't really have any choice in the matter now, I can't really glue it back on.

We went to Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. It was fun, there was hardly anyone there at all so we got to ride a lot of things and we were only there for 3 hours. We had to leave at Noon because Matt had to work at 2 and he wanted to have time to shower before work. There are some pictures up on our photobucket site if you want to see them.

Speaking of which here is the link again to our photo webpage. You can go to the right of the screen and click on what event you want to see, so like to see the Disney pictures just click on Disney World and it will take you to those pictures. http://s335.photobucket.com/albums/m450/mjfry512/Moving/?action=view&current=EndofTimeInIndianaAndTheMove260.flv

Mostly Settled

We are getting settled into our new jobs and our apartment feels like a home instead of just somewhere we are staying for a little bit.

My job is going well, I am coming off of working at 77 hour week though, and yesterday and today have been my days off. I won't normally work 77 hours, I just had a few very full days and only 1 day off. So now I am feeling renewed after having two days off in a row.

Matt's job(s) is going well as well. He started working at the lower-school this last Monday. He had today off though because it is Labor Day. He works there from 2pm-6pm. He also getting into his role as the Youth Minister at the Church. They were going to go to a concert at Universal Saturday evening (well from 5pm-1am!) but with Hurricane Hanna headed this way they have decided to not do that now. Hanna isn't suppose to hit us head on, it is suppose to hit Georgia more, but you never know those things. No one really knows until it actually hits what it is going to do.

Sitting next to me on my left asleep right now is the new addition to our family. Meet Wrigley:
Wrigley is a 3 month old (born May 24th) Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie). He is 3.3lbs right now and will be about 6.5lbs full grown. He is the perfect size for our small apartment. The first thing we are doing is working on getting him potty trained. He is doing well with going outside and has only had 2 small accidents.

Busy Busy!

We have been so busy! But now things are starting to settle down and I officially started my new job yesterday and Matt officially started working as the After School Coordinator today! I will have a lot more internet time on my hands as I sit at a desk a lot when I monitor.

So far everything is going good. Most of my girls are moved in. I only have 3 girls that have not arrived yet, but they should be arriving shortly (as in they should all be here by tonight). I have many cultures represented on my floor! I have 2 from the US, 1 from Brazil, 1 from Canada, 3 from Vietnam, 1 from Japan, 3 from China and 7 from South Korea.

They have all been good so far... although I did have to just yell heyyyyy into the hallway because two girls were cussing about how much "stuff" they had. They said sorry and that was the end of it though, so that is good! Most of them have been very respectful towards me thus far and I certainly hope I only gain more respect from them as the year goes on. Everyone is still getting a feel for everyone else (them and me, they all know each other). Things have been a little loud today, but not really more than expected since they are moving in and seeing each other for the first time in a few months. Things will calm down and be quieter once school starts tomorrow (hopefully!).

Tomorrow is my first day off though. Matt doesn't go to work until 2pm tomorrow so we will either just relax around the apartment resting up from the craziness we have had the last few days or we may go relax at one of Disney's water parks, and just leave the water park around noon to get back in time for him to get ready for work.

Other than that nothing else is going on. Oh! Matt got his job at the Youth Pastor at the church. They voted on it yesterday.

Also I am hoping to get my Yorkie soon! I found one from a breeder not too far from here. They have two males (we want a male, they are cheaper for one, and I have heard have better temperments) for sale. I would like to go look at them next tuesday! BUT that is still undecided so we will see. I'm excited about getting one though, so I have a little puppy to sit with me while I sit in the office. Plus they are just so darn cute!

Anyways, that is it for now.

Starting work!

We've been busy getting settled in doing things like visiting with people from the church, taking a CPR class (4 hours long!), we also have been to the Disney parks a few times (I will put pictures up on photobucket soon).

Today (well in 5 mins), I am leaving to go on a retreat for work. We are going to stay overnight at Vero Beach, which is on the east coast. Doing mostly team building stuff and talking about the upcoming school year. I'm looking forward to it. I will get to really learn more about my job at the retreat.

In other news, we are suppose to get by Tropical Storm Fay, which is suppose to turn into a Category 1 hurricane. It is suppose to hit Tuesday afternoon and we are getting back from the retreat Tuesday around 3:30, so cross your fingers we get back from the retreat before it hits!

Disney World- Magic Kingdom

So we got the apartment all set up so we decided to take a break and take ourselves to Disney. We were just going to go to Downtown Disney, but we ended up just going ahead and getting our passes. It was Matt's first time ever in the Magic Kingdom at Disney, and he had a pretty good time. We put a few pictures up on photobucket.

Other than that, we are just spending time getting settled in. Matt is at a meeting at the church currently.

First Days in Florida!

We have officially moved to Florida. The drive down was pretty uneventful, long and boring, we were VERY ready to get out of the car after those 15 hours. We only stopped twice, just before Nashville, and once a little before the Florida border.

We are finally here though! We like our apartment much more than the one we had in Bourbonnais. We got the keys and our "Relocube" yesterday. Matt and I got everything out all by ourselves including the bed, both couches, the heavy coffee table and dresser. We did it in about 4 hours. All we really did yesterday was get everything out of the cube and got it into the apartment.

Today we woke up and started to put all of the furniture where we wanted it to be, and started to unpack. We've been doing that all day and just got done with dinner. Matt is currently putting our kitchen table together. I'm getting ready to go check on our clothes that are in the wash.

If you go to our photobucket website you can see some pictures from the move and a video of our apartment. It is a video of our apartment when it was empty and we hadn't put our stuff in it yet. I'll do another video when we have it all set up. Here is the website: http://s335.photobucket.com/albums/m450/mjfry512/Moving/?action=view&current=EndofTimeInIndianaAndTheMove260.flv

Moving soon!

We will be making the drive down tomorrow. We woke up early this morning so that we would be tired for an early bed time tomorrow because we will be waking up at 2:30am and leaving at 3am to head for Florida. We will get into where we will be staying around 6 or 6:30pm (hopefully). Then Friday we will get our keys around 8am and get our "cube" and start with the unpacking!

WE'RE MOVING......FINALLY!!!

We received the phone call on Sunday from the Academy that let us know that we are able to move into our apartment on the first weekend of August. He informed us that we could move in on the 1st, but we are not going to begin driving down until the 3rd. We're hoping to get down to Florida as quick as possible and that the Sunday traffic will help us. We'll post pictures/videos or links to the pictures/videos of our apartment/the academy as soon as we get unpacked...and maybe sooner as a time to procrastinate unpacking.

Still Waiting

Well we are still waiting for our move. We are hoping to know by the end of next week a move date, because we don't know our actual move date yet. But other than that here are some things that we have been doing in the mean time... We have been spending some time in the pool which is nice. We have also went to a few of Matt's dad's softball games. I think today Matt and I are going on a picnic :)
I told mom I would put this picture of her being goofy up...

Updates

There hasn't been a lot going on with us as we are pretty calm. We probably will not have a whole lot to say until we actually get down to Florida because nothing is really happening right now.

We are still unsure as to when we will be moving, but are keeping our fingers crossed for the 2nd or 3rd week of June. It seems like a good possiblity that we can move then at this point, but anything can happen.

We have gotten to go to a few local baseball and softball games and get some relax time in, but other than that we are just in a waiting stage, which in itself can be stressful!

Other than that, all is well and we hope to have some better updates soon! I will update again as soon as I know anything about when we will be able to move.

No longer residents of Bourbonnais

Matt and I thought that we should start a blog so that we could give updates to anyone who wants them. So feel free to read along, comment, forward the link to anyone who wants it, or you may also choose not to keep up with us :) that is all up to you! Matt and I will probably both write in here, though I'm sure I will more than he will.

I'll just recap that last week and a half or so. We graduated May 3rd, on a cold and rainy day. It is nice to have that chapter of our lives finished, though we do appreciate our experience at Olivet... maybe we won't come November when we have to start paying off our student loans though!

This last Monday was our 1 year anniversary. I was a little sick, and our apartment was pretty much all packed up, but we still got to go out to eat and eat 1 year old cake!
Here is our 1 year old anniversary cake from the wedding.

Tuesday was moving day. We decided to move with ABF and used something called a "Relocube" to move with. It is a pod thing that is 6x7x8 and you fill it up with your stuff, put your own lock on it and they ship/store it for you. In our case we have a few weeks in which we will be transitioning so it will be stored in Orlando until we actually move down to Florida this summer. (right now we are staying with both mine and Matt's parents). Here is a picture of the Relocube: (It is in Nashville already and heading to Atlanta according to their website. )

Here it is from the outside

Here it is with Matt in it!

After we had gotten the couch, love seat, mattress and a bench in it.... which was only the start of our massive amount of stuff that we fit in there. Though not all of it fit.

You don't even want to know what all we fit in there!

After we got that all packed up we headed out to eat with a group of close friends, stayed the night with Mark and Amanda and yesterday (Wednesday) we headed down to visit with our parents.

We are mostly just hanging out and doing a lot of nothing while we wait to move to Florida. We have to wait until our apartment is ready. It could be in early June but it could be as late as August (yikes). We won't know a specific date until late this month.

That is about it for now, more updates to come later! Thanks for stopping by!!
